I am aware that there is a markup going through retail, but I refuse to make such a huge emotional and sentimental purchase online where I don't exactly know where the stone has been sourced from. So much things that can go wrong online.

That's an excellent crash course on Morganite! I found your comparison of well cut vs badly cut explanation and video most useful. I have looked at gemstones where the table is like a see through glass and I have wondered .. why is it like that?!

Is there a way to indentify if a lab/real moissanite isn’t fake (some other material like glass etc)?

Lab created emeralds do have a choice of colors by some manufacturers.

THANK you so much for talking about the importance of color in emerald cuts! so many people on youtube talk about going dark with emerald cuts being okay.... it is not.... I can see so much color difference even between F and G on emerald cuts!!! The interesting thing about face up size for me is that, I've always come across radiants having bigger face up surface than emerald cuts of the same carat weight

As for knobby knuckles, is there a way to keep the ring from spinning if measured to the knuckle? I want a ring that still has more than a band. I’ve seen some rings with built-in prong/knob like spacers on the inside.

With the question about the proposal, I'd say a compromise would make sense. The asking person can tell the partner around the time they should expect a proposal, e.g., Let them know that it will happen in the upcoming Summer. I think the asking person can also find a compromise by respecting the type of proposal that the partner has expressed that she/he/they wants, e.g., an intimate proposal in a sentimental place for the couple VS a more public moment when the asker initiates it when the couples' friends and family are around. As someone who recently was proposed to and it did not quite go as smoothly as I had hoped, i.e., He proposed at a special event (which was okay), but then waited too long at the event, and then only asked me to marry him with no other words besides, "Will you marry me?," in a busy, crowded room when people were trying to , I would have appreciated it if he had consulted me on what I think is a nice type of proposal, OR even just asked help from one of our mutual friends (who was at that event) to assist him in executing the plan better--I would have felt less blind-sided in the spotlight at an awkward moment and he likely would have felt less nervous bc there would be more certainty to the situation. I'm glad it was still a surprise, but man do I wish he timed it out differently and asked for support to make it more special. He's a shy guy, but this is EXACTLY WHY asking for support is helpful. Anyway, "No" I do not think the partner who is being asked should tell the proposer EXACTLY how it should be done, but a little consideration, consultation and support with the proposal can go a long way. Oh, and by the way, I hated the initial ring. After a week and a half of bearing it (and trying to like it), I told him that I was disappointed and starting to get resentful... so I asked him if he could return it and if he would make an appointment for us to go together to pick out something within the budget that is more unique to me and my style.
